Bursa was once the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, and today it remains a city of gardens, domes and thermal springs at the foot of Uludağ Mountain. This private day tour is for guests who want to see both the historic centre and the mountain scenery in comfort, with a flexible pace and no large group to follow.

Your day begins with a journey south from Istanbul, crossing either by ferry across the Sea of Marmara or via the suspension bridges and highways, depending on conditions. Along the way your guide introduces the story of Bursa and its role in the early Ottoman period.

In the city you visit landmarks such as the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, where delicate tilework and calm courtyards create a different atmosphere from Istanbul’s grand monuments. A stop in the historic silk market, Koza Han, lets you see traditional fabrics and everyday local trade rather than only souvenir shops.

Later, you head up towards Uludağ Mountain for cooler air and wide views. In suitable seasons you may use the modern cable car to reach higher viewpoints; at other times you drive part of the way for photo stops and short walks among the trees. Throughout the day, your private vehicle is never far away, so you can sit, rest and enjoy the scenery whenever you wish.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the day and how much driving is involved?

This is a long but rewarding day, typically lasting around 12 hours door to door. Driving time can be three to four hours each way depending on route and traffic, which is why we use a comfortable private vehicle and include breaks along the way.

Is the cable car to Uludağ always operating?

Cable car operation depends on weather. When it is not running or when conditions are not suitable, we can still drive partway up the mountain by road for viewpoints and photo stops.

What should we wear for Bursa and Uludağ?

We recommend comfortable walking shoes and layers. It is often cooler on Uludağ than in Istanbul, especially in autumn and winter, so a warm jacket or fleece is useful. In winter, hats and gloves are recommended for time spent outdoors.

Are entrance fees and lunch included?

Lunch and Cable car not included price. You cant pay any money for fees.
