We have prepared a small promotional article for the month of June 2024, just to give an idea for travelers who want to have a holiday in Istanbul. The details we will write will guide and help you for your Istanbul holiday. We will write it as priced as possible. But we should not forget that June will be the prices of 2024. As you know, since it is the holiday season, we encounter different prices every month. In this article, we will only stay in Istanbul and share with you the places to visit and small details.

Places to Visit in Istanbul

Day 1 – Sultanahmet Region

There are many important and beautiful places to visit in the historical peninsula. If you’re quick, it can be visited in a full day. So where will we visit? Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Irene Church, Istanbul Archeology Museum, Basilica Cistern, Gulhane Park, Grand Bazaar. These are the most popular places in the region. Apart from what we have written above, there are historical fountains, inns, marketplaces and bazaars. The total of entrance fees is 100 USD for the average foreign tourist.

There are many local restaurants in the area. Each restaurant’s menu prices are written at the entrance. You can find every style of food and cuisine of every culture. Lunch can be purchased for an average price of 20 USD to 40 USD per person. I will write you the names of some restaurants.

As transportation, there may be commercial yellow taxis. There may be Vito-style minibuses rented by travel agencies with daily drivers. Prices average between 150 USD and 190 USD. Finally, it can be with the tram line passing through the region. Since all the places we wrote about will be within walking distance, only the car will drop you off. You can choose the same transportation methods for your return in the evening.

Things to consider: prayer hours are important when visiting mosques. Sometimes they may stop excursions at that time or it may be too crowded. Credit card can be used everywhere. It is our culture to tip or leave a tip in our country. For restaurants, a 10% tip may be considered. The area is always crowded. Business hours for public transportation are quite busy. If you are going to use public transportation, it should be kept in mind that it will be very busy between 07:00 – 09:00 in the morning and between 17:00 – 20:00 in the evening.

Day 2 – Balat – Eyüp – Pierre Loti Region

We can list the most popular places to visit in the region as follows. Only around Balat, Fener Houses, Historical Stone Oven, Sveti Stefan Bulgarian Church, Merdivenli Hill, Colorful Stairs, Balat Pickle Shop and Historical Soda Shop. Afterwards, Eyüp Mosque and Tomb, Pierre Loti Hill and Café. There are many historical and beautiful places that we cannot write about.

There are many local restaurants for eating and drinking. It is the region where small boutique restaurants dominate. Lunch can be purchased for an average of 15 USD per person.

As a recommendation, there is a cable car that goes up to Pierre Loti hill next to Eyüp Mosque. We recommend you to see the region from the air and experience this pleasure. It takes approximately 4 minutes and the ticket price is 0.60 USD per person. There will be no other entrance fee. Watching the view from the Café on Pierre Loti Hill with Turkish Coffee is a special pleasure.

Transportation options include taxis, minibuses with private drivers and public transportation. Business hours for public transportation are quite busy. If you are going to use public transportation, it should be kept in mind that it will be very busy between 07:00 – 09:00 in the morning and between 17:00 – 20:00 in the evening.

 

Day 3 – Bosphorus Tour – Ortaköy – Ulus – Emirgan Region

On this trip, where we will see both the Asian and European sides of the Bosphorus panoramic, we will enjoy baked potatoes in Ortaköy, dessert in Emirgan, and tea or coffee in Ulus. Boats for the Bosphorus tour depart from Ortaköy, Eminönü and Beşiktaş piers.

Depending on the place of departure, the trip can last 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes. You can watch all the beauties of Istanbul, the waterside mansions and the historical villas on the Bosphorus. The average boat trip fee is 5 USD per person.

In terms of eating and drinking, you can find restaurants of famous chefs and famous brands, as well as local restaurants. We can write some restaurant names as follows.

Day 4 – Eminönü – Nişantaşı – Taksim – Beşiktaş Region

 Let’s start the tour with the Spice Bazaar in Eminönü. After a short shopping session in the historical bazaar, you can visit the historical area around the bazaar. You can also shop there. Afterwards, you can visit Nişantaşı, the street where all the world-famous brands in the region are located. Then, Taksim Square and the famous Istiklal Street can be visited. St. Anthony’s Church and Madam Tussauds museum can be visited.

The entrance fee is approximately 10 USD per person. Afterwards, you can walk to Beşiktaş and visit Dolmabahçe Palace. The average entrance fee is 30 USD per person.

There are many alternatives for food. You can eat at any restaurant you want in Nişantaşı, Taksim or Beşiktaş. The average cost for lunch per person in the region is between 20 USD and 50 USD.

Day 5 – Islands Tour

We can start our day by taking the ADALAR ferry departing from Kabataş or Eminönü. The average ferry fare here is 2 USD per person and one way. The ferry stops at Kınalıada, Burgazada, Heybeliada and Büyükada respectively. The same route is followed on the way back. After a 105-minute ferry ride, you get off at Büyükada. If you want, you can go to the top of the island with electric vehicles.

You can visit Aya Yorgi church there. You can enjoy the view from the top of the island by drinking tea or coffee. Afterwards, we can go down again and have lunch. The average cost is between 15 USD and 30 USD per person. You can take the return ferry again around 16:00 in the evening and come to Kabataş pier.

Fish is generally preferred as a meal in Büyükada. I am writing you the names of some popular restaurants.

Day 6 – Bursa Tour

Bursa is a historical city in the Marmara region, approximately 135 km away from Istanbul.

It is approximately 2 – 2.5 hours away. You can go to Mudanya by ferry and visit the city from there by taxi or private car. Or you can go there with vehicles with private drivers provided by travel agencies.

As for the places to visit, Uludağ, Historical Plane Tree, Green Mosque and Green Tomb, Historical Koza Han Bazaar, Cumalıkızık Village, Iznik Lake, Mudanya are the most popular places. If you want to visit everywhere, staying 1 or 2 nights will be enough. Other places to visit include Yalova, famous for its thermal waters. Yalova is another city neighboring Bursa. Likewise, thermal water can be found in some hotels in Bursa.
